MY/ YOUR - 3 Most Inspirational Songs
75MY/YOUR 3 Most Inspirational Songs
Music inspires me. In my moments of despair, it is music that often supplies the best medicine. I'd say most have heard of two of the three songs on my list of most inspirational songs. I'm interested in hearing what songs inspire other Hubbers.
#1 - My number one inspirational song is the one I think most have never heard of ... Believe/ Keep The Dream Alive by Yolanda Adams. Incredible lyrics ... "Keep the dream alive, don't let it die .... there's something deep inside ... keeps inspiring you to try .... don't stop ... and never give up, don't ever give up on you." .... sang by one of the most beautiful voice of all time.
#2 - This is a controversial one. I don't know Michael Jackson. He has certainly earned the controversy that surrounds him ... with that said, his song 'Man In The Mirror', makes my inspirational classics. If there's a flaw, I think Michael was talking to everyone, as opposed to the 'man' in the mirror. Maybe as a man, I took it more personally, but this is how I hear it .... "I'm starting with the man in the mirror .... I'm asking him to change his ways .... no message should be sent any clearer .... if you want to make the world a better place take a look at YOURSELF and make that CHANGE!!!!
Inspiring lyrics with meaning before and after this tidbit of verse, flawed Michael's Man In The Mirror grabs my second spot.
#3 - Another troubled star, with another voice for all times ..... Whitney Houston's classic "Greatest Love of All" .... we know the voice ... the words ... a glimpse " I believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way, show them all the beauty they possess inside, give them a sense of pride to make it easier ... let the children's laughter, remind us how we use to be." Like my other classics, surrounding verses filled with inspirational brilliance.
An honorable mention goes to a childhood favorite of mine ... "Sing" ........ Sing, sing a song, sing out loud, sing out strong .... sing of good things, not bad ... sing of happy not sad ............ sing, sing a song, make it simple to last your whole life long ... don't woryy if it's not good enough for anyone else to hear .... just sing ... sing a song ... la, la, la,la, la ......
That's my top three. Are you inspired by music? What songs have influenced you most?
*** Hey, also a big Meatloaf - Paradise By The Dashboard Light, Queen's - , Bohemian Rhapsody, Eminem Cleaning Out My Closet fan ..... and I have no qualms with my mom :)

Great list, David! I have several favorites for inspiration. One is "We Are the World" and I can't for the life of me think of the artist! I also love "My Way" by Elvis Presley. I believe that music plays a big part in motivation and inspiration in our lives both personal and business. I just published an article called "Motivate Your Business Through Music" which talks about choosing a theme song and having it play regularly. My business theme song is "The River" by Garth Brooks. If you haven't heard it, give a listen! I think you will see why I chose it!http://youtube.com/watch?v=CI2D0Vfbmxw This concert video is extraordinary! Perfect example of faith in your goals as well as humanity!

my favourite is "Over the Rainbow". it gves me encouragement that i can achieve anything i want to, even the impossible, "...if happy little blue birds fly beyond the rainbow, why, oh why can't I?"
another one that captures my sentiments is "Memory" by Andrew Lloyd Weber. its lyrics describe my emotins almost perfectly and its lonely mood is extremely captivating :( ".....I remember the time i knew wat happiness was".
hvnt yet picked out my 3rd fave but 'Greatest love of all" is definitely in my top list. I am going to peform it this November for LCM pop voice exam. Wish me luck everyone. I am trying to master the energy that Whitney gives the song, i want a rendition that is close to hers.
There are few current song that I think is inspirational as well, Hit the Lights by Selena Gomez and Not Afraid by Eminem.

Nice Hub. Reading that you've included, "sing, sing a song" made me smile. Makes me want to add Mr Rogers, "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood" or "Zippity doodah, zippity eh."
In all seriousness, music is definitely moving and powerful....I think in movies, it's the music that helps contribute to the desired effect of drawing out certain emotions.
